Statement of Faith

This Statement of Faith sets out the core beliefs that shape the message, ministry, and mission of Inside Out.

We affirm these truths as revealed in the Bible and centred on the gospel of Jesus Christ. They express the foundations of our faith, guide our teaching, and unite us with believers everywhere who hold to the historic Christian faith.

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who are co-equal and co-eternal. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God is sovereign in creation, revelation, redemption, and final judgment. He created all things out of nothing by His word and for His glory, and He created humanity in His image to know, love, and serve Him. (Genesis 1:1, 26–27; Psalm 24:1; Revelation 4:11)
The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired and infallible Word of God, and the supreme authority in all matters of belief and behaviour for all people in every age. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105)
Since the fall, all humankind is sinful and guilty, subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3)
The Lord Jesus Christ, God’s incarnate Son, is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended to heaven, and now reigns over all. (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:34–35; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11)
Sinful human beings are redeemed only through the sacrificial death once for all of Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and humanity. (Mark 10:45; 1 Timothy 2:5–6; Hebrews 9:26–28; 1 Peter 3:18)
Those who believe in Christ are forgiven all their sins and declared righteous before God solely on the basis of Christ’s righteousness credited to them, received by faith alone and not by works. (Romans 3:21–24; Philippians 3:9; Ephesians 2:8–9)
The Holy Spirit alone makes the work of Christ effective in individual lives, bringing conviction of sin, leading to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. (John 16:8–11; Titus 3:5–6; Acts 2:38)
The Holy Spirit lives in all believers, transforming them to be more like Christ and empowering them for witness and service. (Romans 8:9–11; Galatians 5:22–23; Acts 1:8)
The one holy universal Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all true believers. Its mission is to glorify God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, and proclaiming the gospel to all nations. (Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42–47)
The Lord Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead. There will be a bodily resurrection the redeemed to eternal life in the new heavens and new earth, and the unrepentant to eternal separation from God. (John 5:28–29; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 21:1–4; Matthew 25:31–46)
